As I was eating lunch with three of my friends (all of us engineering grad students), we were talking about a yet to be released movie and one of them said in an excited state, “They say it is going to be about a boy and his robot, but that’s stupid…it should be about the liberation of Cybertron!”
Bonus points if you know what movie he is talking about.
Need a hint? Later, he described how the movie website was taking user submissions for suggestions of lines to be put in the movie and having fans vote on them. His vote went for, “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.” Of course!
And yes, I am excited about this movie.
Been listening to this one a lot, pretty much the whole way through.
This novel was published after the Chilean-Mexican author's death, and I'm not even sure if it was entirely finished or not. It is broken up into five parts which, while connected, stand pretty much on there own. I have not yet made it to the grim part about the murders of hundreds of women in Mexico, so I have so far found it enjoyable and even funny despite some dark underpinnings. It's had a ton of critical praise, and I like it much more than my last foray into the violent novel genre: Blood Meridian.
