The Human Hand in Climate Change

by Brock on January 26, 2007

This is a great article by Kerry Emanuel describing the science of climate change, the complexities in predicting it, and the consequences that the future may hold.
It is a pretty long article. If you get tired of reading about the science of climate change (though it is wonderfully educational and well explained) the last fifth of [...]

Mr. Fantastic

by Brock on January 20, 2007

I came across this crazy video on National Geographic of an octopus squeezing itself through a clear plastic tube.

The saying in the title ends with “if it’s brown, flush it down”. In an effort to save money on our water bill, my second-year college roommates and I posted a sign with exactly that saying in our apartment’s bathroom. But that is neither here nor there.

I read a post on inkycircus (a science blog by three British women – and a new favorite site of mine) titled “Hap-pee New Year“. It linked to this thoroughly interesting article from New Scientist.

The article covers the interesting though environmentally troublesome problem of urine waste.
