There is a fight going on right now in Washington over Net Neutrality. Basically, Net Neutrality is the principle that all people should have equal access and use of the internet. Unfortunately, internet providers like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T want to control what is on the internet by preferentially treating sites which pay them a lot of money. This is bad news.
Fortunately, enough people raised their voices against these internet providers in the past year to thwart their last attack on Congress. But they are still trying. A website like SaveTheInternet.com not only has a lot of educational information on the subject, but also helps to let your voice be heard by putting you in contact with your Congressperson or local newspaper. It is super easy so take a look.
And for the more multimedia inclined, here is a video from SaveTheInternet.com:

Been listening to this one a lot, pretty much the whole way through.
This novel was published after the Chilean-Mexican author's death, and I'm not even sure if it was entirely finished or not. It is broken up into five parts which, while connected, stand pretty much on there own. I have not yet made it to the grim part about the murders of hundreds of women in Mexico, so I have so far found it enjoyable and even funny despite some dark underpinnings. It's had a ton of critical praise, and I like it much more than my last foray into the violent novel genre: Blood Meridian.
