I’m excited to announce that the video Winston and I made for the POM Tea Contest has been selected as one of 10 finalists from the 140 or so submissions.
I appreciated all the people who took the time to go look at the video on Youtube when I posted about it before. But now is when I really, really need your support.
If you go to the POM website you can vote for your favorite of the 10 finalists. My video is titled “Lester Hobbs: Free Radical Hunter” and has the picture with the guy in the cowboy hat.
In addition to voting for the winner, you can also vote for any video in three runner-up categories: Best Comedy, Most Original, and Best POM Spirit. Voting for those categories is a little trickier in that you have to enter the person’s Youtube account name and video title. For your reference, my Youtube name is “brockriggs” and the video is “Lester Hobbs: Free Radical Hunter“.
I don’t want to be greedy, but it would be awesome if we won one (or all) of these categories in addition to winning the Grand Prize – POM Tea even challenged the finalists to achieve such a feat.
Thanks! And be sure to tell everyone you know!

Been listening to this one a lot, pretty much the whole way through.
This novel was published after the Chilean-Mexican author's death, and I'm not even sure if it was entirely finished or not. It is broken up into five parts which, while connected, stand pretty much on there own. I have not yet made it to the grim part about the murders of hundreds of women in Mexico, so I have so far found it enjoyable and even funny despite some dark underpinnings. It's had a ton of critical praise, and I like it much more than my last foray into the violent novel genre: Blood Meridian.
